Generator Installation across Alabama

Alabama weather makes backup power a practical purchase rather than a luxury. Severe storm season takes lines down across Alabama most years, and a standby generator turns a multi-day outage into a flicker while the transfer switch does its job.

What is included

  • Whole house standby generator installation
  • Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton and Champion units
  • Automatic transfer switch installation and wiring
  • Manual transfer switches and generator inlet boxes
  • Load calculation so you buy the right size, not the biggest
  • Concrete or composite pad setting and levelling
  • Gas line coordination with your plumber or gas company
  • Critical-circuit panels for essential loads only
  • Commissioning, load bank test and owner walkthrough
  • Annual service, battery checks and fault diagnosis

Customer reviews

★★★★★

Whole house surge protector and a few GFCIs. In and out in a morning, no mess, and they took the packaging with them.

Sparking outlet in the nursery. I was panicking. The person on the phone talked me through killing the circuit and stayed calm, which helped more than they probably know.

★★★★★

Had them add a dedicated circuit for a freezer in the garage and an outdoor receptacle. Fair price, clean conduit run, done in half a day.

Frequently asked questions

What size generator do I need for my Alabama home?

It depends on whether you want the whole house or just essentials. A critical-load setup covering the fridge, well or sump pump, furnace fan, internet and a few lighting circuits is far cheaper than whole-house coverage. We run the load calculation and give you both numbers so you can choose.

How long does a standby generator installation take?

Most residential installs run one to two days for the electrical work once the unit and pad are on site, plus the gas connection. We coordinate the sequence so trades are not tripping over each other.

Will the generator start automatically when the power goes out?

With an automatic transfer switch, yes. The switch senses the outage, starts the engine, waits for it to stabilise and transfers the load, usually within thirty seconds. When utility power returns it transfers back and cools the engine down.

Can you connect the portable generator I already own?

Yes, and it is a popular option in Alabama. We install an exterior inlet box and a transfer switch or interlock so you can power selected circuits safely. Never run a portable generator into a wall outlet — that backfeeds the line and is genuinely dangerous.

Do generators need servicing?

They do. Oil, filters, battery and a real load test once a year keeps the unit from failing on the one night you need it. We service units we installed and units we did not.
